CD Rom and DVD5 disc offset printing artwork specifications
(Replicated discs)

Two digital
file formats are accepted for disc, insert / slick and
cardboard sleeve artwork. The files need to be at least
300dpi. 1. Adobe Photoshop CMYK .tiff or, 2.
Adobe Photoshop CMYK .jpg
A "white" base coat is required to print a
white undercoat onto the silver
disc
surface in order for the other colours to print correctly.
If a white layer is not printed, any white / clear areas on
your design will appear silver.

The area within the 23mm &
40mm diameters does not
have a silver coating and will not print exactly the
same as the prime printable area. This difference will
be noticeable in very light colours within this area.

- For 3
colour screen printing we require a
300dpi Adobe Illustrator
.ai file
(please specify Pantone (coated) colours used).

The printable area for full size
screen printed CD's is within the
25mm and 116mm diameters. The area within the stacking ring
(33mm - 35mm) will be blank.
The area within the 25mm &
40mm diameters does not
have a silver coating and will not print exactly the
same as the prime printable area. This difference will
be noticeable in very light colours within this area.
- Type
For regular type the minimum size is 5pts, and the minimum line
width is 0.15mm. For
any type reversed out of a colour the minimum size is 6pts
For
any type reversed out of 4 process colours the minimum size
is 8pts
For
any type made up of 4 process colours the minimum size is 10pts

Please
note that even with a white underlay exact colour matching is
not possible
due to the silk screen process and the metallic surface of the
disc.
It is not possible to achieve
smooth
gradation with silk screening. It
is not possible to achieve smooth
transparency with silk
screening.
